Raffaella Striani - PhD Students

Francesca LionettoRaffaella Striani received her Master Degree in Science for Conservation and Restoration at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage of the University of Salento in July 2010 defending her thesis on “Photopolymerizable protective coatings organic-inorganic hybrids in aqueous emulsion: development, characterization and application on stone surface”. She worked for one year within the Strategic Research Project of Puglia Region (POR) "Protection, consolidation and cleaning of typical stone materials of Puglia Region: testing products with low environmental impact and monitoring treatment”, manager of project Prof.ssa Mariaenrica Frigione and project partners: Department of Innovation Engineering, University of Salento; Institute for Archaeological and Monumental Heritage (IBAM-CNR), Lecce; Institute for Chemical and Physical Processes (IPCF-CNR), Bari. From January 2012 she is a PhD Student in Engineering Materials and Structures at the University of Salento. Technical skills and abilities: i) development and thermal, kinetics, rheological and mechanical characterization of uv-cured experimental products; ii) development and characterization of photopolymerizable organic-inorganic hybrid systems acrylic/silane-silica based; iii) characterization and evaluation of protective efficacy of uv-cured experimental coatings on stone surface.
